Patients Seek Better Results in Nonsurgical Cosmetic Treatments

WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Physicians attending the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery in Chicago were invited to a Hot Topics session on the latest advances in plasma skin regeneration. Co-moderated by Richard Fitzpatrick, MD, and Christopher Zachary, MD, the session focused on new studies, expanded protocols, treatment of acne scars, skin tightening -- especially around the eyes -- and delivering CO2-like results with less recovery time. Presentations were made by a world-renowned faculty that included Drs. Kenneth Arndt, Brian Biesman, Jeffrey Dover, David Goldberg and Nathan Uebelhoer.

According to David Goldberg, MD of Skin Laser & Surgery Specialists of New York & New Jersey, "The reason why this technology all of a sudden is becoming very exciting is that the whole pendulum with what we are trying to accomplish is swinging back with patients wanting to see some results.

Tasha might be flying along when suddenly she feels a little lift under her wings and – aha! – starts to understand. The elevator is going up, and she is on it. The next time may not be quite so accidental, and, according to Dunne, she may even keep an eye out for the airborne dust and rising debris that indicate a thermal. She may also be on the lookout for other raptors that have been scouting thermals. In this manner, lifting and soaring, Tasha made her way along the coast to a barrier island in North Carolina, where near-hurricane winds forced her to lay low for a couple of days. Having watched ospreys on the marshes of Cape Cod during northeasters, I tried to imagine how Tasha would have responded to the storm. Though ospreys look large, their hollow bones give them little ballast; most actually weigh less than 4 pounds.

Johnson wins second Daytona 500 pole as Hendrick team rolls on

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - The Hendrick Motorsports juggernaut just keeps on rolling.

Reigning NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson won his second Daytona 500 pole less than 24 hours after new Hendrick teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. took the checkered flag in the non-points Budweiser Shootout.

Michael Waltrip, embarrassed last year at Daytona when his then-new team was caught in the post-qualifying inspection using an illegal fuel additive in his Toyota, also had a great run Sunday, taking the outside pole.

Only the top two qualifiers locked in starting positions for next week's 50th running of the Daytona 500.

Asked if this makes him the favorite to win the 500, Johnson said, "We have to wait until we get out in the draft and see how these cars work.

Martin leads Devils past Hurricanes 6-1

White opened the scoring at 3:08 with a slap shot from the left point. After a stretch of 125 games without a goal, White has produced two in five games.

The Devils, in a reversal of recent form, went up by two goals on Martin's power-play tally at 5:53. In each of the previous three games, New Jersey fell behind 2-0 and went 1-1-1 in that stretch.

After Aucoin scored on a goal-mouth tip at 10:35, Oduya restored the Devils' two-goal advantage with a spectacular tally that capped an end-to-end rush. Picking up the puck behind his own net, Oduya went the length of the ice, eluding five defenders before beating Cam Ward between the pads at 15:47.

It marked the first time the Devils scored three consecutive goals from defensemen since Dec. 31, 1991.

Zubrus netted the Devils' second power-play goal of the period with 2:02 left to give New Jersey a 4-1 advantage.
