The store also stocks a range of Tocca products (fragrance, home scents, candles, etc.). The in-store spa with two treatment rooms helps distinguish Blue Mercury from other beauty retailers. Clients can indulge in facials, microdermabrasion, and waxing services starting at $15. ATMOSPHERE:Laid back. Customers are encouraged to touch and sample the products. After the borders came down
A tiny boy in a green shirt whirls around, his hand above his head before we are shown a shot of a tank blowing up, the soldiers' bodies thrown in the air. Chuckles of approval. As a helicopter gunship is bathed in fire, he says: "They landed in a minefield. Their people could not save them." His wife Kameta adds something to the effect that Chechnya will not be beaten. As he turns to talk to me his son takes over the computer and puts on a game that involves firing big weapons at vehicles. Not usually one to be bothered by such games, it's a bit more disturbing in view of the real life carnage that preceded it. We are on the outskirts of a rather delightful Polish city, Lubin. The couple and their six children, aged between six and 19, have applied for asylum in Poland and now live in a state-run centre for people waiting for their cases to be heard.
Theatre investigation related to thefts
The theater reported a printer, cash, coins and checks stolen on June 18, 2007, but additional equipment was also discovered missing, Friends of the Children's Theatre board member Dan Conway said Friday. "We've had some very expensive equipment that has been lost or stolen," board member Ken Freiberg said. "It was a big, huge surprise." Conway, however, said he didn't think the equipment was that expensive. Friends Treasurer Justine Franklin and board President Paula Collins said they knew of only the one burglary last summer. The Friends, a support organization founded in 1970, did buy the theater group a digital camera to replace one that was stolen, Franklin said. The burglary was notable for two reasons, board member Szonja Szelenyi said.
Maple Leafs turning to Cliff Fletcher?
Even worse was Maurice. I thought he was going to cry during his post-game scrum. HNIC's Scott Oake and Kelly Hrudey said it right - it was painful to watch. Unless, of course, you revel in human suffering – or hate the Maple Leafs. It's time to make a decision. These guys don't deserve this anymore. Make a commitment to them, or fire them. It happened near the intersection of South Street and Ocean Street. Reports say A Barnstable cruiser on routine patrol came up on the scene as it happened. The victim was reportedly treated and released at the scene. Police are investigating. Driver extricated from Mills rolloverMARSTON MILLS - Rescuers had to extricate a driver from a rollover crash in Marstons Mills. Around 7 PM the car came to rest on a guardrail at the intersection of Routes 149 and Route 28. According to reports 50-year old Alison Sullivan of Sandwich tried cross Route 28 onto Prince Avenue when her Saab was struck by a Toyota SUV operated by 51-year old Peter Johnson of Cotuit. The SUV rolled over possibly more than once. Johnson was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Barnstable Police are investigating the crash and a citation may be pending for Sullivan.
Rosacea: No laughing matter
Rosacea can manifest as anything from a blushy red face to pimples or bumps, a red nose like W.C. Fields, or eye inflammation. The bulbous red nose of the late entertainer W.C. Fields, seen above in a "David Copperfield" movie poster, has been attributed to a form of rosacea, called rhinophyma, not to his heavy-drinking lifestyle. Today, the condition can be treated with surgery. .
