People think that the greasy foods — like chocolate, pizza and fried foods — somehow clog their pores and the oils get secreted onto their skin. In fact, acne is caused by the gland getting clogged by skin cells and bacteria. Recent studies have shown the possible link between milk and other dairy products with the development of acne. It is thought that hormones and other bioactive molecules may stimulate the glands causing acne. I usually recommend limiting but not eliminating dairy.

Yes, a league newbie learns quickly that no matter how good you thought the league you played in before was — it wasn't. Every player in the USHL was an all-star on their last team."In high school I'd be able to skate end-to-end and score by myself, but you would never be able to do that in this league," said Tyler Kieffer, just before the rookie was traded by Lincoln to Everett (Wash.) of the Western Hockey League.For many, the USHL is their first taste of the demands of the real world. One night, you've scored two goals and are singing country tunes with your buddies, and the next, the coach is telling you to clean out your locker.But should you survive the rigors of the league, the rewards are great.

Smoking ban brings mixed opinions in Carroll
Maggie's has been fighting this kind of ban for 10 years, he said.But Scott Beck, owner of E W Beck's Pub in Sykesville, said the ban will bring in new business."I think on the short term it may negatively affect us, but in the long term, it will probably be positive," said Beck, who anticipates the ban may make his restaurant more family friendly and attract many of the area's young residents."We have people that won't come out because it's too smoky," he said.Beck said he will try his best to accommodate the smoking clientele. Before the ban goes into effect, a door that will access an outdoor patio will be added to the restaurant. The plan is to eventually have the patio covered and heated, Beck said."I think some of the bar business might decline, but people don't come to a bar or restaurant to smoke.
Chad Demands Sudanese Refugees Moved

Chad has threatened previously to expel the Darfur refugees, who have fled five years of fighting between the region's ethnic African rebel groups and Sudan's Arab-dominated government. After attacks by Chadian rebels in April 2006, President Idriss Deby said he would force them back into Sudan if the international community did not take action to prevent Sudan from destabilizing his country. Deby backed down a few days later under intense international pressure. Over the weekend, about 12,000 more Darfur people fled across the border into eastern Chad after air strikes by the Sudanese military on several towns.
