Experience is a great teacher, and experience taught me to give up when trying to surprise someone like my wife with a Christmas/birthday/anniversary gift. If I'm told the store, the aisle, the table, the color, the sales associate, the brand - and it's written down - it's even money I'll get it right. If I strike out on my own for that something that's a surprise and they like it, it's an absolute fluke if they do. Such as a very recent birthday when I bought a jewelry box from Penney's for my wife because (a) it would have been perfect on the dresser, and (b) it was the first thing I saw in a nice display when I walked in the store. "Would it hurt your feelings if I took this back and..." No, not at all. In fact, it just reaffirmed I should have bought a gift card in the first place so you could go and shop and take your time and find the perfect item.
BNP will put up two candidates
The recent article in the Dsily Mail about Donna Bailey shows that BNP members appear to be caring,responsible members of the community who are willing to work for the best of the community they live in.Maybe we should be looking at the BNP in a new light and giving them a chance to show what they can do for the good of all. I am not a party member but am increasingly impressed by what I hear of the good work BNP members seem to be capable of. .
Britney's Fall From Grace Makes the Cover of Rolling Stone
A couple of months ago, there were rumors swirling that Britney may be on the cover of Rolling Stone again, and the issue officially hits newsstands this week. The article has more stories about Britney's dizzying downward spiral, including a mall visit gone bad, plastic surgery rumors, and juicy details on her relationship with Justin. So far, the magazine has only released a teaser excerpt, which is just another upsetting story about an outburst Britney had while trying on clothes at Betsey Johnson. Here's more: . . . she ducks into the dressing room with Ghalib. He emerges with her black Am Ex. The card won't go through, but they keep trying it. "Please," begs Ghalib, "get this done quickly." One of the girls runs to Britney's dressing room, explaining the situation through a pink gauze curtain.

On Thursday 14th Feb member of Shell to Sea will hold a protest outside the Dail to highlight the outrageous sweetheart deal that corrupt politicians (ie. Ray Burke & Bertie Ahern) have given to the oil and gas companies looking to drill off the coast of Ireland. A bus from Bellanaboy will arrive at the Dail at 12 noon. Please come and let Bertie & Co know that you dont accept their dodgy dealings. A brief look at the deal is: In 1975, then Minister for Industry and Commerce Justin Keating introduced licensing terms for oil and gas exploration. Included in these terms was the ability for Ireland to take a maximum of 50% stake in any find and production royalties of between 8-16% and production bonuses depending on the size of the find.

Edwards said putting Wal-Mart's name on the clinics also fits with the retailer's drive for a public role in health care to counter union-led criticism that it skimps on employee health insurance. Wal-Mart has introduced the clinics as well as $4 prescriptions for some generic medicines, and Chief Executive Lee Scott pledged last month to find other ways to help cut health care costs, including promoting the use of electronic health records instead of paper files. .

Near the street's end, ascend a ramshackle stone staircase through the University Woods. There, at the top of the crumbling stairway, lies the base of the domed neoclassical building that can be seen from the elevated tracks in Manhattan. The gates to one of New York's long forgotten monuments rest just beyond there, near the top of the hill. Today, the sign at the campus entrance at University Heights reads Bronx Community College, but until 1973, the handsome complex designed by Stanford White housed none other than New York University.
